We offer year-round live performances, classes, and workshops for adults and children, outreach programs, festivals, exhibitions, a Farmer's Market, and professional theatre in the summer.
The SCA is also a rental facility for weddings, receptions, meetings and more.
OVERVIEW The SCA is currently looking for someone to assist in making the Saugatuck Center for the Arts campus to look its very best.
This position will work closely with our Rental Coordinator and Facilities Manager to ensure our space is clean, swept and set up for our various indoor and outdoor events.
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Working with the Facilities Manager and Rental Coordinator to execute requirements for performance/event contracts including:
Exterior Cleanup of Outdoor Spaces Physical tasks such as sweeping and de-webbing, spot mopping, leaf blowing and power washing when needed Event Setup and Tear Down Setting up/tearing down tables and chairs, setting up patio heaters, maintaining propane tanks Setting-up & tearing-down for classes, films, gallery talks, lectures, and more General Maintenance General upkeep in used spaces Minor plumbing Drywall patch and paint Running errands, offsite event assistance Project and Event Specific Duties Implementing facilities improvement projects Working with the Rental Coordinator to execute rental events including weddings, receptions, and special events year-round (heavy emphasis May - Mid October).
REQUIREMENTS Must be comfortable being in the building alone Ability to follow written and verbal directions Ability to comfortably lift 70 pounds Must be 18 or older to apply REPORTS TO:
Facilities Manager, Kevin MacLeod and Rental Coordinator, Teresa Zerfas.
COMMITMENT:
This person fulfills a 20-25 hour/week position at the Saugatuck Center for the Arts.
Employees must be able to work days, evenings, and weekends.
This job is performed throughout the entire SCA property.
Start date in mid-March.
